How to Draw a Mirror (6 Easy Steps)
This tutorial shows how to draw a mirror step by step with easy to follow illustrated examples and quick instructions.

The mirror in the example has a fairly straightforward design with a somewhat rectangular shape. The glass part is surrounded by a basic frame that then transitions into the handle. You can see what it looks like as well as a preview of the drawing stages in the the image above.
Start the tutorial in pencil and make light lines that are easy to erase in case you have to make a correction. You can darken them once you have all parts of the mirror outlined.
Step 1 – Draw the First Half of the Mirror

Before you begin drawing the mirror make a light vertical line through the middle of the area where you wish to position it. Draw the line in pencil and make it very light so that it’s easy to erase it later on. The purpose of this line is to act as a guide that can help you see if the drawing becomes skewed to one side or if one of the mirror’s half’s comes out wider than the other.
As mentioned, in this example the mirror is roughly rectangular in shape. Keeping this in mind outline the first half of it’s frame. Position this to one side of the guide line. Leave the area where it transition into the handle open.
Step 2 – Draw the Second Half of the Mirror

On the other side of the guide line draw the second half of the frame. Try and make it as close in shape to the first half as you can so that the mirror is symmetrical.
Step 3 – Draw the Handle

Going down from the mirror’s frame draw the handle. Similar the frame you can draw it one half at a time.
Make the handle slightly narrower in as it goes down from the frame and then wider again as it goes towards the bottom. Make it’s bottom end fairly rounded.
Once you finish drawing the handle you can erase the center guide line.
Step 4 – Draw the Glass

Inside the mirror’s frame outline the glass. It’s shape should be similar to that of the frame itself but smaller.
Step 5 – Draw the Handle Hole & Finish the Line Drawing

For the last part of the mirror, draw a hole near the bottom of it’s handle. Make this round in shape. Hand mirror’s often have these so that they can be hung on the wall.
Once you have the hold outlined you can trace over your drawing with darker lines. You can either press harder on the pencil or use a black marker.
Step 6 – Color the Mirror

Before coloring, outline a pair of reflections inside the glass part of the mirror. Draw these on an angle running from one side of the glass to the other. You ca define them in blue or very lightly in regular pencil (so that the lines later merge into the color).
The reflections, although somewhat stylized, will help convey that the mirror has a shiny surface and make it look more like glass.

To color the mirror, make the glass a light blue (leave the reflections white). Make the handle and frame any color you like. In this example it’s an orange/brown which goes well with the blue and can look a bit like bronze or rose gold.
Markers, paints, and pencil crayons can all be good options for applying the color. Go with whatever you prefer or have on hand.
Conclusion
This guide shows how to draw a fairly simple hand mirror with a somewhat rectangular shape. However, even with simple drawing like these it can be helpful to use basic guide lines that can help you catch or avoid mistakes. Also, adding a little bit of extra details (such as the reflections along the glass) can really help improve the drawing without too much extra effort.
